Preparing to undergo the procedure
1. No special preparation is necessary in advance of a calcium scoring CT
2. Please contact CT department 15-30 minutes before your appointment time to change your clothes.Examination Process
1.The technologist begins by positioning you on the CT exam table, lying flat on your back.
2. ECG electrodes will be attached to your chest.
3. Patients are asked to hold their breath for a period of 5 to 10 seconds.

Ultrasound scans can be used to investigate a variety of symptoms affecting many different parts of the body. The procedure is basically the same, but different kinds of probe and slightly different techniques may be used for some of these scans.
- Abdominal Scan: investigates abdominal organs such as the kidneys, liver and pancreas, as well as the abdominal aorta.
- Transvaginal Scan: used to check the female reproductive system and pelvic area, or to check on the foetus during early pregnancy.

- Testes Scan: investigates lumps or other symptoms affecting the testes.
- Pregnancy Scan: the most well-known form, used to check the health and development of the foetus.
